A 30-minute technical SEO audit you can run every month
You don't need an expensive crawler to catch most technical SEO problems. This routine takes about 30 minutes:
1. Coverage (10 min) — In Search Console, open Pages. Look at "Crawled – currently not indexed" and "Duplicate without user-selected canonical". A rising number usually means thin or duplicate templates.
2. Sitemaps (5 min) — Every URL in the sitemap should return 200, be canonical to itself, and be indexable. Redirects and noindex pages in a sitemap waste crawl budget.
3. Speed (5 min) — Check Core Web Vitals for your top templates, not just the home page. One slow template can drag down thousands of URLs.
4. Internal links (5 min) — Spot-check that your money pages are reachable in two or three clicks from the home page.
5. Robots & canonicals (5 min) — Confirm nothing important is blocked and that paginated or filtered URLs point canonicals the right way.
Write down what you find each month. The trend matters more than any single number.
